October 2nd National Batik Day
National Batik Day is a day of national celebration to commemorate the enactment of Indonesian batik as a Cultural Heritage for Humanity Oral and Nonbendawi (Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity) on October 2, 2009 by UNESCO. On this date, various levels of society from government officials and employees of state-owned companies until students are advised to wear batik.
