Tuktuk Siadong Village: Enjoying Lake Toba Samosir Island

transportation

Travelling by land to Parapat takes approximately 4-5 hours from Medan. There is a railway mode of Medan to Siantar then continue the trip by bus to Parapat with journey time of approximately 1 hour.

Available bus or travel directly to the route passing Naidoo especially Lubukpakam, High Cliff, and the direction Siantar. Along the way, you will be treated to a panorama of palm oil and rubber plantations.

Tuktuk can be achieved using a wooden boat from Parapat which contains approximately 100 passengers. The boat will be docked directly to the dock at the edge of the major hotels in the area Tuktuk.

If you cross by car then use a motor boat or ferry from Ajibata approximately 2 km from the wooden boat dock in Parapat. Ferry from indirect Ajibata Tuktuk but to Tomok first and then proceed to Tuktuk with approximately 5 km distance.

  • The air temperature in this area is quite cool and sometimes foggy so it is recommended you bring sufficient warm clothes.
  • Generally tourists who stay here can be one to two months. They usually are backpackers with a car or motorcycle to be ferried Samosir Island ferry from harbor ferry Ajibata.
  • Samosir Island is fairly quiet and safe, small possibility of theft and robbery. Society was already familiar with tourists.
