MISTERY OF "GUNUNG PADANG"

Many questions arise from the discovery of the site of Mount Padang, Cianjur, West Java. Some are saying that there is a 'pyramid' in the body of a hill with a height of 885 meters above the sea level.

Many also associate Mount Padang with Jabal Nur in Saudi Arabia. Jabal Nur has meaning Mountain of Light or Mountain of Light. Mount Padang itself in Sundanese also means Mountain of Light.

But what kind of shape and form of the original site of Mount Padang is still a question mark. Veil was not yet open, even by the National Research Team Site Mount Padang. At least since the last few years.

Researchers team up to now guessed, this is a megalithic site punden staircase. With 5 terraces, where the terrace to-5 is the highest land surface.

Other estimates of the national team is a researcher was once a building site or sites of multicomponent repeatedly occupied by a particular community at a particular time.

"This building site or sites of multicomponent repeatedly occupied," said Vice Chairman of the National Team of Mount Padang Field Research Site Archaeology, Ali Akbar Liputan6.com when met recently at the top of the hill of Mount Padang, Padang mountain hamlet, village Karyamukti, Campaka subdistrict, Cianjur regency, West Java.

The estimates are based on the excavated layers national team. In the layer at the top of the hill, where a stretch of structured and patterned andesite is found allegedly aged 500 years BC. Then in the second layer with a depth of about 4 meters diperikirakan older, which is about 5,200 years BC.

If traced, then a layer of 5,200 years BC is the 'first'. Then dumped or buried and built and inhabited again. And so on until 500 years BC or even in the modern era.

"Let's say it's the oldest 5,200 BC. Then backfilled, and then built again, dumped again, built again," said Abe, familiar greeting.

Then the community with culture as what ever occupy Mount Padang? Allegedly they came from several communities and cultures. Abe calls one of which is the Tiong Hoa community.

Because, said Abe, national team researchers found a number of findings that are derived from Chinese culture. Such as ceramics and coins cam.

"The indications are a lot of Chinese ceramics found here. Keteng Then there is the Chinese currency," said archeologist graduate of the University of Indonesia.

Not only that. The researcher team also found pottery and coins thought to have come from Europe. For example Netherlan Indie currency. Even also found coins of the Republic of Indonesia in 1957 Thus the findings that led to the initial hypothesis, that there is only one community at a time with their culture who once inhabited the site of Mount Padang.
"So the point of this site or this building many times inhabited until the present age," said Abe.
